Students in the Teacher Education Academy will have multiple levels of experiences: early childhood, middle childhood, high school, special education, and career-technical education to prepare them to pursue a career in education through post-secondary studies.   • 17 years old

  • Demonstrate ninth grade skills in math, reading, writing, science, and citizenship

  • Completed three years of high school with a suggested 2.5 GPA

  • Currently enrolled in a college preparatory curriculum

  • Teacher/counselor recommendations

  • Expressed interest in teaching

  • Previous service to school/community

  • Provide own transportation to internship and seminar sites

Post-Secondary Education Opportunities

 
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science in Education

  • Articulation Agreements: Cuyahoga Community College,  Malone College, Ursuline College, University of Cincinnati, Walsh University, University of Toledo, University of Akron, Baldwin Wallace College, Lorain Community College

  • Waived Courses Agreement: Ashland University

  • Students have the opportunity to earn up to 7 college credits in this program.
