College Partnerships

The Career Center PREPARES Students for COLLEGE and a GREAT CAREER while still in High School

Over 86% of our 2007 graduates planned on continuing their education. Many of these students will have an advantage over their peers, not only because of their technical background, but also because they will have college credits BEFORE they get to college. Career Center students gain the best of both worlds – technical skills and a strong academic foundation.

The Tech Prep program is a sequence of academic and technical studies that prepare students to enter college or to enter the workforce with better academic and job-related skills. In addition to the Tech Prep program, the MCCC also has many agreements with various colleges, universities and technical schools. These agreements enable students completing a particular course of study to receive college credits after meeting specified criteria.

The Medina County Career Center is continuously working to develop additional agreements. Agreements have been made with the following post-secondary institutions:

Computers are part of today's world and they will continue to play an ever-increasing role in our daily lives. In the world of work, auto and diesel mechanics use sophisticated computerized testing equipment, health care providers use computers for diagnostics, landscapers use computers aided design, builders use laser guided levels, and graphic artists use computers for design and layout.

At MCCC, the use of technology is extensive. Computers are thoroughly utilized both as a means of academic instruction and as a tool of the trade within their particular program. All equipment at the Career Center is state-of-the-art and upgraded continuously.

Link-Up with the Future... Today!

The Medina County Career Center also has a distance learning lab that allows students to link up with individuals (such as college professors, community leaders, professional organizations, and employers) who are teaching from a different location. Students can take advantage of these lessons without ever leaving the building.
